Armenia's junior weightlifting teams will travel to Ismailia, Egypt, where the 2026 Junior World Championships will be held from May 2-8. A total of ten athletes have been included in the men's and women's squads.
According to the press service of the Weightlifting Federation of Armenia, the national team is aiming for a strong performance and a fight for top placements on the international stage.
Men's team: Artush Grigoryan (65 kg), Narek Grigoryan and Hovhannes Hovhannisyan (both 71 kg), Narek Mkrtchyan (79 kg), Valerik Movsisyan (94 kg), Grigor Ghazaryan (110 kg) and Gagik Mkrtchyan (+110 kg).
Women's team: Meri Misakyan (69 kg), Anna Amroyan (77 kg) and Emma Poghosyan (86 kg).
The tournament in Ismailia will gather the strongest young weightlifters from around the world. For the Armenian athletes, it will be an important career stepping stone and an opportunity to make a name for themselves on the international scene.
