The 2021 European Championships were held in Moscow, Russia on 3–11 April — the final major qualification event before the Tokyo Olympics. The original 2020 edition, also planned for Moscow, was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Armenia took 2 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes in total. Gold: Karen Avagyan (89 kg, 375 kg) and Samvel Gasparyan (102 kg, 390 kg). Silver: Hakob Mkrtchyan (96 kg, 372 kg) and Gor Minasyan (+109 kg, 464 kg). Bronze: Andranik Karapetyan (89 kg), Arsen Martirosyan (102 kg), Varazdat Lalayan (+109 kg, 445 kg) and Liana Gyurjyan (women's 81 kg).
