Armenian weightlifter, two-time European Champion in the men's 77 kg class (2014, 2016).
At the Rio 2016 Olympics Karapetyan suffered a severe elbow injury during the clean & jerk while in contention for fourth place. He went on to compete at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics. In 2023 he took silver in the 89 kg class at the European Championships in Yerevan.
