Armenian weightlifter, bronze medalist at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in the 77 kg class with a 360 kg total. Born in Leninakan.
Davtyan started weightlifting in 1994 under Honored Coach of Armenia Vahan Bichakhchyan. Four years later, in 1998, he became Junior European Champion and in 2001 Junior World Champion.
At the senior level he became a two-time European Champion in 2006 and 2007 in the 77 kg class, and won World Championship silver in 2007. He was awarded the Honored Master of Sports of Armenia title in 2009.
